The Vernon Community Music School is hosting a Christmas concert to remember.

The award-winning Kelowna-based singing group Candesca will perform Benjamin Britten含羞草研究社檚 celebrated A Ceremony of Carols and other holiday tunes at the Vernon Community Music School Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at .

Under the artistic direction of Alexandra Babbel, Candesca 含羞草研究社� known internationally for their exceptional vocal quality 含羞草研究社� will bring to life a delightful holiday programme.

The concert will be a treat for classical music lovers in Vernon who will experience the charms of the holiday season while admiring the elegance of the human voice. The 90-minute programme includes works by Handel, Caccini and Offenbach, as well as Britten含羞草研究社檚 1942 composition, A Ceremony of Carols, written during a Transatlantic Sea crossing from the U.S. to England, and inspired by a book of poetry purchased during a stop-over in Halifax.

Candesca is excited to share this performance with Vernon music lovers as they prepare for a tour in May 2024. The ensemble will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City where they will join voices from across North America, a full orchestra, and four soloists to perform Mozart含羞草研究社檚 Vesperae Solennes de Confessore. The tour includes additional dates at other iconic NYC venues.

Candesca, meaning 含羞草研究社楤eginning to Shine,含羞草研究社� is an ensemble of young women based in Kelowna. The group has an international presence, having toured 11 countries.

Babbel founded Candesca in 2007 and Opera Kelowna in 2013 and has a distinguished international singing career as an operatic and concert solo performer.
