Millions in government funding for energy upgrades at Kelowna's H2O Centre

Upgrades include heat recovery, HVAC, lighting systems, solar panels, EV chargers

The City of Kelowna has received $2.46 million from the federal and provincial governments for energy modernization upgrades to the H2O Adventure and Fitness Centre.

The funds will upgrade the building含羞草研究社檚 heat recovery, HVAC, and lighting systems and install 100 kW of solar photovoltaics (solar cells) and 10 Level-2 EV chargers. 

The federal government's contribution is $671,007, and $1.78 million coming from the province. The city含羞草研究社檚 share is $894,788.

The District of Peachland is also getting funds for Phase 2 of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association含羞草研究社檚 Inspiration/Training Centre. The project includes the installation of a living roof and passive cooling systems and washroom renovations to enhance accessibility. 

Federal funding amounts to $453,100, with $283,188 coming from the province and $396,462 from other funding.

The federal government is investing over $29 million through the Green Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) to support 17 green infrastructure projects across B.C. The provincial government含羞草研究社檚 contribution is more than $30 million.
