2 arrested after stealing truck near Kamloops

A stolen truck was found on fire at the Sahali Mall in Kamloops on Dec. 18.

The Kamloops RCMP was alerted to the scene after receiving multiple reports that a stolen truck was driving dangerously toward Kamloops from Vernon. Police found the vehicle on fire when they arrived on the scene.

A man and a woman were arrested following a large police presence on McGill Road. One of the suspects attempted to flee the scene and was later caught by the Police Service Dog.

While the incident was ongoing, a nearby elementary school was placed in a hold and secure.
