Kelowna 含羞草研究社榮now route含羞草研究社 street parking bans lifted

While bans are not in place anymore, city is asking motorists not to park on streets when it snows.

Kelowna has lifted the street parking bans on designated 含羞草研究社渟now routes含羞草研究社 that it implemented earlier this week in the Wilden, Ponds, Magic Estates and Dilworth Mountain neighbourhoods.

The parking bans were place were put in place for the first time to help city crews clear snow off residential streets in the four high-elevation neighbourhoods.

But city hall says even with the on on-street parking bans lifted, residents are still encouraged to move their vehicles off the road when it snows as it helps plows clear from curb to curb safely and quickly.

In future, as well as residents of affected areas being notified directly by the city, motorists can find out if parking bans are in effect by:

The city clears and de-ices municipal streets including snow routes by a priority classification. Priority 1 includes high-traffic roads such as Gordon Drive. Priority 2 includes collector roads such as Richter Street, bus routes, school zones, town centres and emergency vehicle stations. Priority 3 includes local roads in neighbourhoods and Priority 4 includes remaining lanes.

Highway 97 (Harvey Avenue) and Highway 33 are maintained by the Provincial Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
