Aged 90, Art died peacefully at Central Okanagan Hospice House with family by his side. Art was born in Powell River June 24,1931, to Robert and Hilda Fletcher.
Predeceased by his son Ron in 1988, Art is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma, children Douglas (Pojanakorn), Sandra, and Lynne (Andrew), 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Following his retirement after a career as a high school principal and Superintendent, Art devoted his life to serving the community, working full time as a volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society for over 30 years. In 2019 the Cancer Lodge Library in Kelowna was dedicated to Art & Norma Fletcher. He was also involved in Scouts for over 70 years and received numerous awards including the Silver Wolf.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scouts Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Art.
