Egon was born in Stuttgart, Germany to parents, Hilda and Josef Ressel. He immigrated to Canada Oct. 21, 1951 at 21 years old. He had hopes of a new and more prosperous life, which, with endurance and hard work, he achieved.
He worked his way across Canada and settled in Vancouver, where he met his first wife. He is survived by his four children; Sonja (Marty); Deanna (John); Egon; and Takis (Christine); stepchildren in Germany as well as grandchildren. In 2014, Egon was predeceased by his wife Ursula. They were married in 1979 and became soul mates.
Egon's sense of humour and entertaining stories will be greatly missed; as will his smile.
Funeral service will be held at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, West Kelowna on Fri., Apr. 28th at 1pm. Luncheon to follow.
