Recent traffic stops resulted in Sicamous RCMP seizing a quantity of cash and weapons in two different incidents.

On May 3, officers noticed a vehicle parked on the side of the highway, and found the driver to be in breach of his probation order requiring he abide by a curfew and in possession of cash totalling $6,100.

含羞草研究社淭he man was arrested for the breach of his conditions and the cash was seized under a proceeds of crime investigation,含羞草研究社� Sgt. Murray McNeil said in a May 14 media release.

The man was later released from custody after he was able to 含羞草研究社渧erify the origin of the seized cash which was returned to him.含羞草研究社�

The second traffic stop occurred on May 13 at 7:30 p.m. when RCMP noticed a vehicle parked with the front turned toward a ditch on Monashee Frontage Road in Malakwa.

含羞草研究社淲hen the officer approached to investigate, he noted a man in the driver含羞草研究社檚 seat which was fully reclined,含羞草研究社� McNeil said. 含羞草研究社淭he officer observed a can of bear spray near the man and he was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.含羞草研究社�

A search of the vehicle also revealed a 9mm 含羞草研究社渟tarter blank含羞草研究社� gun typically used in track and field events. The starter pistol was seized as it strongly resembled a real hand gun.

The vehicle was found to have inactive licence plates so the officer called a tow truck to remove the car.

含羞草研究社淭he weapons were seized for destruction and the driver was released without charges,含羞草研究社� McNeil added.
