Fireworks may be a staple of Canada Day celebrations, but the City of Kelowna is reminding residents of the importance of fire safety.
Personal fireworks are still under a ban due to hot and dry conditions. However, Kelowna Fire Department has approved a permit for the annual celebration held by Festivals Kelowna in Waterfront Park, citing that the display will be launched from a barge and the dropping location will be over Okanagan Lake.

Campfires are also currently under a ban within city limits.
