UBC Okanagan has its sights set on some big plans to mitigate parking issues in the downtown core when its new campus opens.
An underground parkade is set for construction, and at four storeys deep, it will be the deepest parking garage in the Central Okanagan.
In terms of design, the parkade will be built in a 含羞草研究社榯anked含羞草研究社 form, meaning crews will use a special waterproof concrete mix to accommodate the city含羞草研究社檚 high water table.
Typically in building an underground parkade, water around the foundation is pumped away, though in a tanked design, the water and soil is kept in place to ensure structural balance.
