Bird-eat-bird world: B.C. couple wowed by eagle seen snatching 含羞草研究社榣unch含羞草研究社 in city

Resident captures bird含羞草研究社檚 slow ascent carrying its catch before ducking out of sight

An eagle grabbing takeout during a drive through the busy streets of Greater Victoria isn含羞草研究社檛 something you see every day.

So when Amalea Smithson saw a big bird in the next lane of traffic with its talons full, she rushed to get out her phone and capture proof.

含羞草研究社淢y hubby and I were just driving down Interurban when suddenly we saw the eagle flying very low to the ground in the other lane, it likely had just picked up 含羞草研究社 what looks like 含羞草研究社 a hawk or another bird of some kind. My husband thought it seemed to be struggling to fly higher with the weight of its catch,含羞草研究社 she told Black Press Media.

含羞草研究社淒efinitely was one of the coolest things I含羞草研究社檝e ever seen and I bet it would have been even cooler to see from the other angle 含羞草研究社 the front of the eagle.含羞草研究社

含羞草研究社淚t含羞草研究社檚 just a reminder that even though we don含羞草研究社檛 see them on video, we含羞草研究社檙e still in the middle of nature where they含羞草研究社檙e still catching things 含羞草研究社 even though we含羞草研究社檝e built infrastructure and roads through their habitat.含羞草研究社
